Cyprus Wedding Suppliers: How Couples Abroad Find and Book You

Cyprus is a destination-wedding island. Couples from the UK, Israel, Germany, Lebanon and Scandinavia book a photographer, a planner, a florist, a DJ and a cake maker they will not meet in person until the week of the wedding. That means the booking happens entirely online, usually at night, from a sofa two thousand kilometres away. We covered venue websites earlier this month. This one is for everyone else on the supplier list.

Couples search in a different order than you expect

Almost nobody starts by typing "wedding photographer Cyprus". They choose the venue first. Then they ask the venue for its recommended suppliers, scroll Instagram for weddings at that venue, and only then search Google, usually with the venue or the town in the query: "wedding photographer Paphos", "florist for a wedding at [venue]". If your website does not mention the venues and towns you actually work in, you are invisible at the exact moment the couple is ready to book.

One page per real wedding, not one big gallery

A gallery of three hundred unlabelled photos impresses other photographers. It does not rank, and it does not help a couple picture their own day. Instead, give each real wedding its own page: "Elena and Tom at [venue], Latchi, June 2026", fifteen to twenty-five images, three honest sentences about the day, and a line on what you provided. That page can rank for the venue name plus your service, which is the search a ready-to-book couple actually makes. Ask the couple's permission first, name the venue, and tell the venue the page exists. Venues often link back to suppliers who show their space well. Real, well-labelled photos also help in image search, where many couples first see your work.

Answer four questions in sixty seconds

A couple abroad is comparing five suppliers in five tabs. Each tab has about a minute to answer: are you available on our date, roughly what does it cost, what exactly is included, and can we trust you? Put a starting price on the site ("Full-day coverage from €1,400, including travel anywhere in Cyprus"). Couples filter by price before they email, and "contact us for a quote" simply sends them to the next tab. Spell out inclusions in plain words: hours, second photographer, number of edited images, delivery time, travel. For trust, show named couples, a Google rating, and your face. A supplier who is a real person with a real name wins over a logo every time.

Instagram finds you, the website closes

Reels and carousels tagged with the venue, the town and the planner are how couples discover suppliers today. But a direct message is a poor place to close a booking across time zones. Put one link in your bio that goes to an enquiry page asking for date, venue, country and guest count, and keep Instagram for showing the work. Every enquiry that arrives through the form is one you cannot lose in a scroll of unread messages.

Reply like someone who wants the booking

Couples abroad message several suppliers at once, and the first proper reply very often wins. Within one working day, confirm the date, send the package page or PDF, and offer a twenty-minute video call. A ten-minute call builds more trust than ten emails. When they say yes, take the deposit by card through a payment link rather than asking for a bank transfer to a Cyprus account they have never heard of, and send a short English contract with the cancellation terms. The speed of the reply and the clarity of the quote decide more bookings than the portfolio does. Remember the calendar too: couples book next summer between October and February, so the website has to be ready now, not in May.

Get on the lists couples actually use

Set up a Google Business Profile with the right category and a service area covering the whole island, and ask every couple for a review in the email that delivers their photos or flowers. Then work the venue lists: email every venue you have worked at and ask to be on their recommended-suppliers page, with a link. Planners are worth a coffee each, because one planner can bring ten weddings a year. International wedding directories are a maybe: pay for one only if a real couple tells you they found you there.

This month's checklist

  • Create one page for each of your last five weddings, named after the couple and the venue.
  • Add starting prices and a plain inclusions list to your main service page.
  • Replace the "DM us" bio link with an enquiry form that asks for date, venue and country.
  • Set a one-working-day reply rule with a video-call offer in every first reply.
  • Ask three venues to list you, and ask your last ten couples for a Google review.

Do these five things before December and you will be answering next summer's enquiries while competitors are still updating their gallery. If you want a supplier site built around real weddings, enquiries and deposits, talk to us.
